“We have just recently completed the GCSE Spanish speaking mocks and it is evident that the students who went on the trip were more confident in their speaking and pronunciation than those who didn’t. Some were even able to use new vocabulary learned from the trip.”

Frequently asked questions about our school trips to Spain

Spain is a year-round destination, but for school groups the ideal time to visit is generally between October and February. Travelling in the cooler months means safer, more comfortable temperatures for students, fewer crowds at cultural sites, and significantly cheaper flights compared with the busy summer term. It’s also a great window to maximise the learning impact of an immersion trip before the long summer break.

Spain offers a huge variety of locations for school groups, from iconic cities to Voyager's immersive Spanish language centres. Barcelona is Voyager's second most popular city (after Paris) thanks to its world-class art and architecture, buzzing atmosphere and student-friendly sights like the Camp Nou. Madrid is ideal for culture lovers, home to the Prado, Reina Sofía and also offers Spanish lessons for language groups.

For something different, Valencia combines its striking City of Arts and Sciences with a beautiful historic centre and fantastic food – it’s the birthplace of paella, after all. Down in Murcia, our Arbolar immersion centre offers sunshine, watersports and visits to traditional whitewashed villages.

Groups looking for classic Andalusian culture can head to Cádiz, a great base for exploring Seville and Granada, and for language and cultural immersion at Spark residential school. Or choose Mas Pagès near Girona for a rural, quieter option with full language immersion and easy coach access from the UK.

Get in touch with our Spanish educational experts who'll help build an itinerary to fit your educational objectives.

The cost of a school trip to Spain varies depending on when you travel, your itinerary, transport and the level of support you want. Ask our Spanish destination experts to tailor a programme to suit your budget and learning objectives.

For the most affordable option, a teacher-led trip to Barcelona starts from £535 per pupil travelling by coach (meals and visits extra). Barcelona also offers plenty of free activities, such as exploring Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter, while paid visits like the Camp Nou or Parc Güell cost around £10–£20 per student.

Our best-value residential is the Mas Pagès language centre near Girona, with prices from £715 per pupil travelling by coach for a four-night stay including meals, supervised activities, language sessions and cultural visits. Teachers can relax knowing the pupils are taken care of and everything is included in this price.

For a fully supported experience, our Spanish & watersports trip in Murcia starts from £574 per pupil in the spring term, including flights, language instruction and on-site activities.

Voyager’s Spanish trips combine educational value, cultural enrichment and practical support to maximise the impact of your visit. As well as offering popular teacher-led tours to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia — including the option to travel by coach for a more affordable trip — we specialise in true language immersion at our partner centres in Girona, Murcia and Andalucia.

What sets us apart is our team of native-speaking Spanish monitores, who lead the programme from start to finish. They run your group’s activities, excursions and evening entertainment entirely in Spanish, giving students constant exposure to real language use in real situations.

Schools consistently tell us they see a significant boost in students’ confidence and understanding, which translates into better engagement and performance back in the classroom. With Voyager, your trip becomes more than a memorable experience — it becomes a meaningful step forward in your students’ language learning.
