Christmas & Wintersports Festival at Hôtel du Moulin, Opal Coast

Give your students a magical start to the festive season on our Christmas Market School Trip to France, based at Voyager’s cosy Moulin aux Draps centre near Calais. By day, pupils experience sparkling Christmas markets, real-snow skiing and local cultural visits. By night, they warm up with hearty homecooked meals, crackling fires, glowing games and the occasional toasted marshmallow.

This special seasonal programme transforms our Moulin centre into a winter wonderland, with your dedicated animateur leading a full itinerary of activities and excursions.

Highlights include a real-snow ski session at Ice Mountain, a visit to the Lille Christmas Market and a Christmas party. This memorable winter trip helps new year groups bond, build confidence and experience the adventure of a school trip abroad.

The programme is fully flexible and suitable for students of all ages, offering a range of curriculum links and cultural learning opportunities. Schools can choose to enhance the educational value with:

French language elements woven into the stay
A teacher-led visit to the nearby WW1 battlefields (with workbook)
A fully immersive French experience with your animateur leading students in French

Itinerary

Day 1

Coach pick up from school and depart for France
First stop, a mouth-watering tour of a French chocolaterie to see how the sweet treats are made, from melting to moulding & coating—and the all-important taste test!
Back at the centre, enjoy Christmas dinner with crackers, followed by Christmas activities with your Animateur

Day 2

After breakfast, board the coach and head off to explore the wonders of Lille Christmas Market. Why not ride on the famous big wheel?
Then it's time to hit the real snow slopes for an afternoon at Ice Mountain in Belgium. Equipment hire and two-hour ski lesson included
Dinner back at centre

Day 3

Take a biscuiterie tour and enjoy a shortbread tasting
Make a stop at a hypermarket on your journey to grab some last-minute French goodies & souvenirs (time permitting)
Travel home and arrive back at school
