Mas Pagès Residential School Centre, Northern Spain

Located in the quiet village of Sant Esteve de Guialbes, and set in 120 acres of its own protected grounds, the Mas Pagès centre offers a safe and welcoming environment for schools groups. There is plenty for your students to do Mas Pagès is well equipped with a range of onsite facilities including an adventure park with high ropes and zip wire, sports pitches, swimming pool and even an 18 hole pitch and putt course.

The accommodation is reserved just for school groups and is located in a restored 17th century stone farmhouse offering dorm rooms with private facilities and an on-site security officer. To create an authentic experience for students, all meals are presented in Spanish.

As well as providing fantastic onsite facilities, the Mas Pagès centre is an excellent base for excursions to historic Barcelona and Girona, or Dalí’s birthplace, Figueres, and is only half an hour to the sandy beaches of the Costa Brava.

Activities and Learning

The emphasis of this trip is on learning Spanish and building confidence through fun activities, conducted by skilled Spanish-native teachers called monitores. Each day starts with a Spanish lesson where the monitor will familiarise the learners on the vocabulary they will need for the day’s activities which will be conducted wholly in Spanish.

Voyager School Travel will work with you to create a tailored itinerary of excursions to suit your educational objectives and the interests and likes of your students.  We recommend that your school group spends a full day at Mas Pagès’ adventure park where students can try the zip wires, hanging bridges, abseiling (rappel) and team games under the supervision of their monitor.

The area is rich in culture and history and offers a wide range of local excursions such as the Dalí museum at Figueres, the medieval city of Girona, beach sports at L’Escala and the Roman ruins at Empuries.  Barcelona is also a popular day trip from the centre where students can experience the architectural sites of Sagrada Familia and Park Guell or visit the Nou Camp football stadium.

Who Is This School Trip Perfect For?

This Spanish language trip is recommended for children in Key Stage 3 as well as students studying Spanish for GCSE. We will tailor the itinerary to suit the age and interests of your Spanish learners and our skilled monitores will differentiate the language content to the age and level of your group.

The Mas Pages programme has been designed to offer language learners our unique Spanish immersion programme without the costs associated with flying and, as such, this is our most accessible Spanish language option.

When Should My School Group Travel to Spain?

This is an all-year programme which can be tailored to the season. Our native monitores will use their local knowledge to make sure you get the best of your trip, whatever time of year you travel.

One of the best times to visit Mas Pages is between September and March when the weather is mild and the popular sites are less crowded.  This period also presents the best value for money with prices between £60 and £80 cheaper per person than travelling between April to July.

The purpose of our language immersion trips is to boost students’ Spanish learning and confidence and so we recommend you organise to travel early in the school year so that you can build on the foundations for longer back in the classroom.

Note that the swimming pool at Mas Pagès is open May to September.
