Bay walk to Mont st Michel
Rated one of the most beautiful place in Normandy. Built in the 11th century, the Abbey is a feat of medieval architecture with outstanding and panoramic views over the bay – and its rooms are as impressive as its exterior. As a centre of Christian pilgrimage, the Abbey has been kept in good condition throughout its life. The nearby Maison de la Baie explains the history of Le Mont St Michel with an audiovisual tour.
The adventurous can approach by crossing on the tidal causeway, but wearing shorts is recommended! One of our expert French native guides will be keeping you on course, whilst noting the local flora and fauna, pointing out some of the many points of interest, and explaining about the famous salted sheep.
Goats Cheese Farm
'La Chèvre rit' is an educational farm situated in Granville. Here your students will have the opportunity to pet the animals (goats, donkeys and many more) and learn how goats cheese is made! Students are invited to observe all the processes involved in the production of this unique product. Ends with a lovely tasting session! http://www.la-chevre-rit.fr/
Oyster and Mussel Farm
Normandy is one of the leading oyster and mussel production regions in France. Your students will be taken on a guided tour of an oyster and mussels farm to see how the Mussels and Oysters are farmed - they'll also be given the opportunity to sample them too!
French Market trip
French markets are a staple of French culture and are always lively colourful affairs, selling local produce, French ‘fashion’ and accessories, live animals and plenty of seasonal fruit and veg. The vendors are usually friendly; so there is no better place for your students to practise your French and pick up souvenirs.
After the obligatory safety talk, students will learn how to shoot arrows in our safe archery arena. Our qualified staff will teach your students how to perfect their target skills and become little robin hoods.
On our own purpose built climbing wall, students take it in turns to climb whilst those not climbing will encourage and coach alongside our qualified instructors. The easy part of abseiling comes after you have reached the top of the tower! All ages enjoy this session and after you’ll feel a great sense of achievement. Harnesses, helmets and other necessary safety equipment are all supplied.
Everyone loves making things they can enjoy and eat later, and even more so on our school trip because we combine bread baking with singing French songs! Students love getting covered in flour, kneading their dough and enjoying their tasty treats later with their evening meal.
Students will be taught map reading skills using orienteering games and courses around the site grounds. Orienteering is an excellent motivational and recreational activity, which increases love of the outdoors and promotes environmental awareness.
As with the abseiling, students climb on own purpose built climbing wall. Our trained and qualified staff encourage students to get involved and run competitions and help all to get their personal best.
Canoeing gives students the opportunity to learn various new skills in a safe, but fun environment. To partake students should be confident in water, but by no means an excellent swimmer. Safety equipment is used at all times.
The staff run various fun and exciting team games. Everyone loves these and they always provide camaraderie among the students. Great for building social and teamwork skills.
This activity is great fun and unique experience students likely wouldn't have done before. Sail across the sand with only the wind to power you!
Pêche à pied
