We're ready when you are

Ready for you logoNow that students have returned to school, it feels like we have moved one step closer towards school trips returning to normal. Children have missed out on so much this year and so we can't wait to organise a trip to help plug students' knowledge gaps and rebuild language confidence.

Like you, we have been busy adapting to new ways of working, in particular, how to provide an incredible school trip, with the same activities and quality learning experiences you are used to, but with additional COVID-19 safety precautions.

We hope the information below demonstrates that we have the safety protocols, expertise, financial security and emergency back-up in place for you to book your next trip confidently.

We are optimistic that school trips will resume in 2021 and we hope that this guide reassures you that, once you are able to consider a trip, we are more than ready for you.

Book with confidence

Your booking is secure with Voyager School Travel. We are a diverse and robust business with our own properties in France which have been rented out privately over the summer bringing in welcome additional income. What's more, hundreds of schools, representing 18,000 travellers, have already rebooked for 2021 and so you can be confident that our company is financially secure. And, of course, you have the additional reassurance that all monies paid to Voyager School Travel are protected by ABTA and ATOL.

Quality assured

As an assured member of the School Travel Forum (STF) and holders of the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge, you can be confident that we have effective safety management systems in place. Indeed, our updated Safety Management System was audited by independent experts in August 2020 and so you can be sure that we continue to maintain the highest standards for your group.

Stay safe at our centres

Wherever possible our school groups stay at our centres, travel on our coach fleet, and are looked after by own staff which means that we are in control of every aspect of your trip and are responsible for the safety of your group.

We have been hosting school groups at our centres for over twenty years and have the experience and local knowledge to look after the specific needs of your group. Three-quarters of our centre groups have already rebooked for 2021 demonstrating teachers' confidence in our standard of care and their belief in the educational value of our language programmes.

The benefit of staying at one of our French centres cannot be underestimated, not only in terms of the service levels and language programmes designed for UK schools but also our ability to accommodate your group for as long as necessary if that were required. You can read about how we will keep your group safe at our French centres in the section below.

Of course, if you would like to see the new controls for yourself, we can organise a subsidised inspection visit to one of our centres in France as soon as travel restrictions are lifted.

Enhanced group safety protocols

We have been working closely with professional bodies, such as the School Travel Forum (STF), to draw up new health and safety protocols for our centres and suppliers so that you can book and travel again with confidence. We hold our travel partners to the same high standard as our own centres, and so if your group is not staying with us, you can still be reassured that a qualified member of our leadership team has carried out additional checks to ensure that your accommodation and activities comply with the STF enhanced protocols for COVID-19.

The resources below should provide enough reassurance and evidence for you to complete an enhanced risk assessment for your next school trip, but please don’t hesitate to contact us if you require specific information or have any questions.

Support while you are away

We provide 24/7 support to all our travelling groups and so if you come across a problem, or your plans have to change at short notice, we are here to sort it out for you. Our experienced UK travel team is multi-lingual which means that we can easily deal with local operators on your behalf. What’s more, by having our own properties in France, our own coach company, and long-standing relationships with airlines and ferry companies, we have the connections to get you home quickly and safely if need be. Our local French team is also on hand to liaise with local medical services and to advise on local health protocols.

Support if plans change

We are proud of our long-standing relationship with schools and we promise that if your plans have to change, we will treat your group fairly. Over the last six months we have had to reorganise the travel plans of hundreds of groups, but over this challenging period we have retained the goodwill of the vast majority of our customers, a testament to our personal approach.

We commit to treating each group with individual consideration and can sometimes offer more flexible booking terms for schools staying at our centres or planning other coach-based trips, which allow you to change your plans should the situation require. This additional flexibility depends on the circumstances of each individual trip and so please do contact us to find out more.

Please note that this content is subject to change and was last updated on 14 September 2020.

Still have questions?

If you have any questions or need any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be very pleased to help.

There is still time to book your summer 2021 trip and have something positive for your students to look forward to. And remember, you can reserve your dates and agree an itinerary now, without any obligation at this stage.
