So our COVID-19 Travel Hub contains everything you need to book including details of our additional financial protection, insurance cover and safety and wellbeing protocols for school trips.
Our school trip insurance has been upgraded to include cover for COVID-19 and this includes medical expenses as well as additional travel and accommodation costs for an individual testing positive. This specialist school trip insurance even covers the additional expenses of a parent travelling to the resort to accompany the child until they are able to travel home, so that teachers can return home with the rest of the group.
Our COVID-19 school trip insurance has been developed in associated with the School Travel Forum (STF) and ABTA and is included with all Voyager School Travel educational trip packages.
Our travel insurance covers individual members of the group for COVID-19 related claims, for example, the cover will reimburse anyindividual who can’t go on the trip because they’ve tested positive or been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace. What's more, under the Voyager School Travel Peace of Mind Promise, we will refund your group if the whole trip is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions and you are unable to claim from your insurance. You can rest assured that we've already amassed experience carrying out school trips under COVID-19 protocols as we've been welcoming French school groups back to Château de la Baudonnière since May. We transformed Château de la Baudonnière into an English Manor for French school children while we were unable to host UK school groups at our French centres.
Like UK school children, French school groups have not been able to travel abroad during the pandemic and so children studying English have had little opportunity to practise the language in a real life setting. In response, we used our 20 years' worth of teaching experience to develop an immersive English language programme, in France, for French school groups unable to travel to the UK.
