Voyager’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our groups is second to none. Safety is always our number one priority and we never compromise on it. Our tried-and-tested procedures, backed up by both internal and external auditing, epitomise industry best practice.
Voyager School Travel is an Assured Member of the School Travel Forum (STF) and in booking with us you can be secure in the knowledge that we:
Understand and facilitate the needs of educational travel
Have effective Safety Management Systems in place, specifically focused on travelling with young students
Offer fair terms and condition and the best financial security
To ensure our health and safety standards are maintained our systems and procedures are fully audited annually by independent experts. STF membership is the benchmark for good school tour providers; consequently it is an Awarding Body for the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge. The Outdoor Education Advisors Panel (OEAP) endorses the Quality Badge and requests Local Authorities to recommend the use of Badged Providers and require the minimum of additional paperwork where Quality Badge accreditation is in place. This means that you can book your trip with confidence, meet your due diligence and reduce the amount of External Provider paperwork necessary.
Senior, trained and qualified staff members select and audit accommodation to ensure all properties conform to all local and European legislation, as well as meeting Voyager’s published Health & Safety requirements. You’ll find more detailed information on all aspects of Health & Safety on our website.
Coaches contracted by Voyager comply with all relevant UK and European legislation, including those laws concerning seatbelts on coaches and drivers hours. Coach operators used more than 5 times in a year will have an ‘in situ’ audit once every 3 years. Tour itineraries are agreed with the coach company to ensure the requirements of EU Drivers’ Hours legislation is adhered to.
All air, rail and sea transportation complies with regulations set down by the appropriate Maritime and Coastguard agency, Civil Aviation Authority or equivalent regulatory body.
All activities featuring in the Sports & Activity programmes should have an appropriate operating licence, suitable levels of Public Liability Insurance and conform to Voyager Codes of Practice. In addition, compliance with the standards set out by the appropriate National Governing Body or Licensing Authority will be required as the appropriate minimum safety standard.
