10 Jul 2026, 13:16

For students considering a future in the travel, tourism or hospitality industries, there's no substitute for learning in a real visitor destination.

That's why the 2027 Travel & Tourism Student Convention at Disneyland® Paris has been developed to provide even stronger links between the classroom and industry.

Taking place 26–29 January 2027, next year's convention introduces new curriculum expertise alongside an exciting addition to our industry speaker programme.

New Educational Advisor

We're delighted to welcome John Garside, Lecturer at BMet as our dedicated Travel & Tourism Educational Advisor.

John has been bringing students to Voyager's conventions for many years and is passionate about helping young people understand the opportunities available within the visitor economy.

Working alongside our conference speakers, John is helping ensure every presentation supports the knowledge and skills students develop through their Travel & Tourism studies.

He is also enhancing our learning resources and will facilitate the convention, helping students identify key curriculum themes and encouraging them to reflect on how industry practice links to their classroom learning.

New Speaker: Excellence in Customer Service

Joining the 2027 programme is Kim Daplyn, Global Director of Guest Relations at Swan Hellenic.

With over 20 years in the travel industry, Kim will explore how exceptional customer service creates memorable visitor experiences, sharing practical insight into guest expectations, service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Her session offers students an opportunity to hear directly from a senior industry professional while exploring topics that sit at the heart of Travel & Tourism qualifications, including customer experience, quality standards and the importance of exceeding visitor expectations.

Industry Experts Return

Returning speakers Tom Nelson, Disney and Lee Ison-Ainsworth, Advantage Travel Partnership will once again bring their extensive experience of the travel and tourism industry, offering students valuable insight into careers, operational challenges and the changing landscape of global tourism.

Together, the speaker programme gives students access to professionals working across different sectors of the visitor economy, helping them understand the breadth of opportunities available within the industry.

A Living Case Study

Disneyland® Paris is far more than a theme park—it's one of Europe's leading visitor attractions and a living case study in tourism operations.

Throughout the visit, students can observe destination management, visitor flow, customer service, marketing, operations and guest experience in action, giving real-world context to the concepts explored in the classroom.

Combined with expert speakers and curriculum-focused facilitation, the convention helps students bridge the gap between theory and practice while inspiring future career aspirations.
