About John

Following his studies in Tourism Management, John spent 14 years with the long-haul travel specialist Travelbag. He then held a variety of roles across the travel industry and airline sector before becoming a Travel & Tourism lecturer in 2020.

John is passionate about inspiring the next generation of travel professionals. He creates opportunities for his students to engage with leading travel organisations through industry visits and guest speakers, ensuring they gain a broad understanding of the diverse career opportunities available within the sector.

This is why he values the Voyager Travel & Tourism Convention. It gives students genuine industry insight, the opportunity to hear from experts representing some of the world's leading travel brands, and the chance to ask questions directly to industry professionals.

John joined Voyager as an Educational Consultant in 2026. He works closely with our team and industry speakers to enhance the convention's educational value by aligning sessions with curriculum learning outcomes, ensuring students gain even more inspiration and meaningful learning from the event.
