Voyager School Travel will be on STAND E17

The Music Education Expo heads to London’s Olympia from 25 to 26 February 2016. The Expo is billed as Europe’s largest conference and exhibition for those involved in music education and is a must for music, drama and performing arts teachers.

Voyager School Travel will also be there so head over to our stand to discover more about the amazing music school trips that we can organize.

Lion King to Lloyd Webber

At the Expo this year there is an exciting roster of seminars, workshops, chats and group activities, as well as over a hundred exhibitors, including Voyager School Travel. It’s a packed programme that has seminars about the future of GCSE, AS and A level music as well as how Bexley Music Service is succeeding with its cross-genre, inclusive orchestra. You can take part in workshops as wide-ranging as how to find your inner conductor to how to introduce yoga practise, breathing exercises and Alexander Technique to your young musicians. The vocal warm-up workshop inspired by Disney’s the Lion King promises to be fun as does being let loose in the Workshop, a space where banging percussion instruments, blowing bubbles and playing with hoops promises to bring you some new ideas to introduce to your lessons. Venture into the Tech Zone and you’ll discover some of the latest gadgets and technology to enhance musical learning. The Performance Stage is home to a series of ‘fire-side chats’ with luminaries like the retired cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber and the one-handed pianist, Nicholas McCarthy.

Feel the music

The talks by these two inspirational musicians alone may be enough to entice you to the Expo but make sure you seek out Voyager School Travel. We are music tour specialists and have a vast selection of music trips that can be customised to reflect the style and level of your students. Whether your group is into Gospel, Classical, Jazz or Hip-Hop, we have the experience and the connections to organise an inspirational music tour. Dublin and London are close to home and have plenty of famous music venues and excursions to fascinate your young musicians. But, if you want to broaden your students’ minds and take them to the next level, Voyager can arrange music tours to cities all around the world. Voyager’s Six Music Capitals tours are amongst our most prestigious and include tours to Vienna and Salzburg, Venice and Verona, Prague, Berlin, New York and Beijing. Each city sets its own music scene, has its unique musical history and fantastic performance venues. Select the destination that most suits and inspires your budding musicians and Voyager will do the rest – book your tickets, accommodation and plan an itinerary that works for you. The Six Music Capitals tours will tick most boxes but Voyager can plan music tours to Barcelona, Krakow, St. Petersburg and Moscow and Toronto too – call us to discuss your musical aspirations and see what we can do.

Go live

Music has a positive effect on a child’s learning; concentration, motor skills and memory recall all benefit; and performing live, in front of an audience, is not only fun but it does wonders for a student’s overall confidence. Voyager’s top-notch concert tours include a wide variety of performance venue options to suit your budget or satisfy your wildest dreams! Whether you want to organise a performance on a bandstand in one of London’s famous parks, get jazzy on the streets of New Orleans in America, step before a packed audience at the Casa Loma Castle in Toronto, Canada or perform in the same concert halls as Mozart and Strauss in Vienna and Salzburg in Austria then Voyager can make it happen. We’ll book the venue, promote your event and get the crew together to make your performance the most amazing experience.

Music and magic

The Music Education Expo is a great place to get inspired and discover more about music education. And, a Voyager music tour will take you one step beyond, on a journey to discover the magic of music.
