Big speakers. Strong curriculum links. Focussed learning resources.

The 2027 Media Studies Student Convention at Disneyland® Paris (26–29 January 2027) is back with exciting new additions designed to give GCSE, A Level and BTEC Media Studies students even greater insight into today's media industries.

Whether your students are analysing media language, exploring audience theory or investigating the impact of digital technologies, the 2027 programme has been developed to help them connect classroom learning with the real world.

A Dedicated Media Studies Educational Advisor

This year we're delighted to welcome back Jonathan Stephens as our Media Studies Educational Advisor.

An experienced Media Studies teacher, Jonathan has worked alongside our speakers to strengthen curriculum alignment across the convention, ensuring students leave with valuable examples they can apply back in the classroom.

He'll also facilitate the conference, drawing out the links between each presentation and key specification topics, including media industries, audiences, representation, branding and technological change.

Case study-led Curriculum Resources

Jonathan has also created an exclusive suite of Disney-focused learning resources, giving students opportunities to engage with the convention before, during and after their visit.

Using Disney as a contemporary case study, students will explore how one of the world's largest media organisations builds audiences, communicates across platforms and maintains its global brand identity.

The resources are designed to encourage analysis, discussion and evaluation while providing authentic examples students can draw upon in lessons, coursework and examinations.

New Industry Voices for 2027

Louisa Ferrari – Strategic Operations & Communications, BBC

We're excited to welcome Louisa Ferrari from the BBC, who will explore how changing technologies and evolving audience behaviours are transforming today's media landscape.

Her session will help students understand how digital platforms, audience consumption and technological innovation continue to influence media organisations and the way content is created, distributed and consumed.

Jack Gamwell – Media Manager, Disney Destinations

Joining the convention for the first time is Jack Gamwell, Media Manager at Disney Destinations.

Jack will provide students with a behind-the-scenes look at media and communications within one of the world's most recognised entertainment brands, exploring how Disney uses digital platforms and social media to engage audiences across global markets.

Drawing on his professional experience, Jack will demonstrate how skills students develop through Media Studies—such as audience analysis, consumer behaviour and media theory—are applied every day within a global media organisation.

Why Disneyland® Paris?

From films and streaming to social media, experiences and merchandising, Disney is one of the world's most influential media organisations.

That makes Disneyland® Paris far more than a destination—it becomes a living case study, giving students the opportunity to observe branding, storytelling, audience engagement and media convergence in a real-world setting.

Combined with expert speakers and curriculum-focused learning, the convention helps students bridge the gap between theory and industry practice.
