Voyager's No Surcharge Guarantee for School Trips

Voyager School Travel guarantees not to pass on airline fuel surcharges or coach hire increases after booking.

What is Voyager’s No Surcharge Guarantee?

Although oil prices have dropped from their peak, global fuel costs remain high and unpredictable. Given the long lead time between booking and travelling, we want to offer you complete peace of mind.

Book a school trip package with Voyager, and if your airline or coach operator introduces a fuel surcharge after booking, we will absorb the cost.

Originally running until the end of July, we have now extended this guarantee to cover any new bookings made up to December 31, 2026.

What does Voyager's no surcharge pledge mean?

The price confirmed at the time of booking is the price you will pay.

Even if suppliers increase their costs later, Voyager will absorb those increases.

What trips are covered?

Our No Surcharge Pledge applies to:

• All flight-inclusive trips and coach packages confirmed before 31 December 2026 
• Any airline fuel surcharge or coach-related increases applied after confirmation
• A booking is confirmed once we have received both your holding deposit and flight passenger list

The pledge does not apply to:

• Government taxes or tourist taxes introduced after booking 
• Changes requested by the school after confirmation
• Increases caused by changes in passenger numbers

As school trips are booked at least a year in advance, we believe that families should be able to budget and pay for their child’s trip without worrying about unexpected extra charges later down the line.

Can airline fuel surcharges be applied after booking?

No. Voyager will absorb any airline fuel surcharges for trips confirmed before 1 January 2027.

Does the pledge apply to coach trips?

Yes, it includes increases to coach hire prices made after confirmation.

Are there any exceptions?

The pledge does not cover government or tourist taxes introduced after confirmation, or price increases due to school-requested changes.

Why are travel companies adding fuel surcharges?

The Package Travel Regulations permit tour operators to pass on fuel price increases under certain circumstances.

Does Voyager still comply with Package Travel Regulations?

Yes. While the Package Travel Regulations allow certain surcharges in specific circumstances, Voyager has chosen not to pass these costs onto schools for trips covered by the Pledge.
