La Grand'Ferme

Overview

La Grand’Ferme is our gîte-style school language centre situated in the quiet village of Le Fougeray, between Granville and Avranches and just 2km from the coast. The main house and barn were built around 1780 out of stone from an abbey destroyed during the Revolution.

With a unique set of buildings, 3 acres of grounds and a view of le Mont-Saint-Michel, the property is full of atmosphere and offers modern, comfortable accommodation, in a car-free environment which is ideally suited for school groups.

Accommodation and facilities

The accommodation is made up of two self-contained buildings each with its own playing field, dining room and teachers’ area. The main house accommodates school groups up to 61 students and 10 teachers, and the gîte can accommodate school groups up to 61 children and 3 teachers.

During their free time, students can enjoy the centre’s many facilities including a heated outdoor pool, petanque pitch, beach volleyball court, all-weather sports pitch, petting animals, games room for evening entertainment, large conservatory and extensive grounds.

Centre staff

There is always a member of staff on night duty, so schools have the benefit of 24-hour care and supervision during their French school trip and we operate our own kitchen so can provide food of the highest quality as well as all specialist diets. La Grand’Ferme has its own dedicated team of French-native animateurs whose job is to look after the needs of your group during the trip.

At La Grand’Ferme, we specialise in providing French language and cultural immersion in a comfortable, friendly, family atmosphere. The immersion programme at La Grand'Ferme offers a fun mix of cultural visits and excursions with on-site activities all led by our qualified animateurs who run all the activities, mealtimes and evening entertainment in French, encouraging your students to use the language at every opportunity and helping to improve their confidence and language skills.

Our well-equipped centre is ideally located near local attractions including Mont-Saint-Michel, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage where students can experience a guided walk across the bay which includes a unique quicksand experience.
