Trending school trips this spring term!

With fewer crowds, milder weather and better prices, we believe a springtime school trip offers students an enriching experience that can't be beaten.

So far this year we've taken school groups to places across Europe, giving them the chance to explore different cultures, history, and landmarks. Whether conversing with the locals in Paris, braving a climbing wall, or discovering the vibrant markets of Barcelona, our students enjoyed unique learning experiences that were not just educational but also lots of fun.

Join us as we share some of the highlights from our recent trips, and discover why travelling in the spring can be even more rewarding!

Funniest photo award:

We have come across many hilarious school trip photos of students getting stuck in with activities, and this term Helena Romanes School took the prize for their photo of brave students buried in the sand! Helena Romanes school embarked on a 4 day Spanish immersion trip to Spark in Andalucía, enjoying their visit to the beach despite the grey skies!

Muddiest boots:

Solihull School travelled to our residential centre Chateau de la Baudonniere in Normandy this February on a jam-packed stay filled with French immersion, bread making, team-building games, and of course, the assault course. These dedicated students got their hands dirty and fully engaged in the games and activities set by our animateurs, they captured incredible images that had us laughing!

This category has a joint winner, with Orchard House School also staying at the Chateau de la Baudonniere in Normandy, France. The students took part in a wide range of activities at the Chateau, and the "tough mudder" assault course was a particular favourite with this school! It’s outstanding to see the students working together as a team while having fun being immersed in the language and gaining more confidence.

Best group photo:

Saffron Walden County High School take the crown for best group photo! This school took a trip to Paris for a 4 day tour of the city, visiting prominent landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and visited the Louvre museum, excellent choices to see what Paris has to offer. To finish off the trip, the group took an amazing picture of them in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower, a perfect way to remember the experience!

Best video of students speaking the language:

Our immersion trips encourage students to practise the target language throughout their stay. Which is why we picked out Emerson Park Academy's video of their students demonstrating their Spanish speaking skills on their residential at Mas Pagès in Spain,

The group were escorted by our spanish instructors, called "monitores", whose job is to immerse the students in the Spanish language, making their stay as authentic and enriching as possible, encouraging the students to speak in their target language.

Best animal selfie:

Churcher’s College Junior School set off to the Opal Coast for an action-packed escorted French trip staying at our residential centre, Le Moulin aux Draps in Northern France. The group shared lovely photos of the students getting involved in activities, team-building exercises and visiting the goat farm, learning (in French) how cheese is made and what it tastes like. The teachers took these excellent pictures of the students making some furry friends!

Cross-cultural exchange of the term:

A French exchange visit is a great way for both French students and English students to experience each other’s culture and build confidence in learning a new language.

When St Joseph’s College stayed at our residential centre, La Grand’Ferme, they visited their partner school, Collège de l'Abbaye, for the day.

Your school has the option to do the same when staying at our residential centre Le Moulin aux Draps, where we can partner you with a French school similar to your own.
