Peru really will capture the hearts of all who venture to this mystical land. Ancient Incan archaeological treasures are hidden in the wild Andean peaks. Diverse eco-systems call this luscious landscape home, and a rich cultural heritage is still very much present within the proud Peruvian communities. Venture to the sleepy villages frozen in time still practising traditional weaving and textile arts and crafts. Equally the Cities are mesmerising in their opulence and Colonial grandeur – a contrast of old and new standing harmoniously side by side.


Day 1 - Depart UK – Arrive in Lima, Peru

Depart the UK for your flight to Lima, Peru. Arrive meet your rep to take to your accommodation. Settle in to and enjoy dinner at the hotel.


Day 2 - City tour of Lima – Gold Museum tour

Breakfast, then head out with your guide to the ‘City of Kings’. Admire the Colonial and Inca influenced architecture, striking old squares and fountains, and beautiful churches and shrines. Visit the Gold Museum, known for having the largest collection of gold in Peru, as well as housing ancient weapons and textiles. Gain an insight into Peruvian history and learn about the different cultures that make Peru the country it is today. Dinner back at accommodation after a day of exploring Peru’s Capital.


Day 3 - Fly from Lima – Arequipa – Monastery of Santa Catalina – "Juanita", preserved Indian mummy

Breakfast, then transfer to airport for a flight to Arequipa. Three formidable volcanoes gate this beautiful city. The city centre has been declared a World Heritage UNESCO site preserving some of Peru’s most impressive architecture. An enormous white Cathedral proudly sits at the city’s core. Take a guided tour of the Monastery of Santa Catalina, an important example of Peruvian architecture and still serving as a functioning religious building today. Next visit the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries to see ‘Juanita’, a famous mummy of a Peruvian girl sacrificed to the gods in the 1450’s. Dinner at accommodation.


Day 4 - Arequipa – Colca Valley – home of the Condor birds

Breakfast, Take a trip to Colca Valley, one of the deepest canyons in the world – with breath-taking views and home of the condor birds. Watch these graceful animals soar with their 6-ft wingspan over the rugged landscape. Explore the spectacular area with your guide. Dinner and overnight in local vicinity.


Day 5 - Colca Canyon – Puno – visit the amazing Lake Titicaca

Breakfast, then an early coach transfer to Puno (an approximate 6 hour transfer). Arrive into Puno, residing on the banks of Lake Titicaca; the highest lake in the world. Believed to be the birthplace of Incas, the vast blue azure waters of this bewitching lake make the perfect setting for the rest of your afternoon. Dinner at accommodation in Puno.


Day 6 - Full day exploring Puno and surrounding villages

Breakfast, and then spend the day with your guide exploring Puno. Though slightly crumbling around the edges, Puno has a real charm that has stolen many hearts. Famed for its folklore, dance and textile arts, you’ll find an interesting sight at every twist and turn of the gritty city. Venture to the surrounding floating villages with your guide to discover the Uros communities that live upon the lake - learn about their history and traditions as well as fishing and hunting techniques still commonly utilised today. Dinner at accommodation.


Day 7 - Puno – Cusco via ‘La Raya’

Breakfast, then an early coach departure to Cusco. Make a stop at the La Raya pass - the highest point in your route. Stretch your legs and admire the jaw-dropping craggy views at just over 14,000 feet above sea level. Check in to your accommodation in Cusco and settle down for dinner.


Day 8 - Guided tour of Cusco

Breakfast, followed by a guided tour of Cusco. Named ‘the sacred city of the Incas’, this city is exquisite in its beauty and is regarded as a national treasure. Set at the foot of Machu Picchu, Cusco is well-trodden on the tourist trail and faces a challenge to preserve its authenticity whilst developing into a cosmopolitan base for International adventurers.  With ancient Inca temples mixed with Baroque churches and Palaces left by the Spanish conquest, it really is a fascinating combination of influences. Dinner at your accommodation.


Day 9 - Cusco – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu

Breakfast, and then depart for Aguas Calientes, a small town situated directly below Machu Picchu. Set off for your mountainous ascent following the trail’s contours to discover the most famous Inca archaeological ruin in the world. Shrouded in mystery and legend, and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is a destination found on most people’s bucket list to see with their own eyes. Prepare to be mesmerised by the enigmatic structures and the grandeur of the ruin set in a truly dramatic landscape. Overnight back in Aguas Calientes and dinner at your accommodation.


Day 10 - Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Breakfast, and free time to amble around Aguas Calientes and haggle for souvenirs, before transferring back to Cusco. Leisure time in Cusco. Dinner at Cusco accommodation.


Day 11 - Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast, before taking a trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Stop in the quaint villages scattering the valley and marvel at the colourful markets with authentic handicrafts and fresh produce – a feast for the eyes! Soak up the striking luscious scenery and fascinating ancient archaeological sites high up in the Andes. Dinner back at your accommodation in Cusco.


Day 12 - Cusco – Lima – Pisco – Paracas

Breakfast, and then transfer for your flight back to Lima. Take an onward transfer to Pisco & Paracas nature reserve. This region is renowned for its abundant wildlife, marine fauna and migratory birds. The reserve protects the rich and diverse ecosystem and the cultural history present in the area. Hop over to Islas Ballestas – a haven for throngs of sea lions and native birds. Spot the Peruvian boobie, Pelicans, and Humboldt Penguins. You may even catch a glimpse of dolphins and Chilean flamingos. From your boat view the mysterious Geoglyph ‘Paracas Candelabra’ engraved into the hillside, thought to date back to 200BC and wonder at its origin! Dinner and overnight accommodation in Paracas.


Day 13 - Paracas – Lima

Breakfast before your transfer back to Lima. Leisure time in Lima for exploring and shopping opportunities. Overnight stay and dinner in Lima.


Day 14 - Transfer to airport – depart Peru

Breakfast, and then transfer to Lima airport for your UK flight home.


Day 15 - Arrive in the UK

Arrive back in the UK
