Beginners and intermediates love this hidden gem with snow late and great value deals
With a 1,500m elevation drop and 125 km of Alpine slopes, this French resort has created multi-medal-winning champions such as Pierre-Emmanuel Dalcin. The area has a great snow record, starting early and always finishing late, and so is recommended for school groups planning an Easter or December trip. As a relatively unknown ski region, the slopes are quieter which means fewer queues and better value accommodation, making Val Cenis a great option for school groups on a budget.
Located in the Haute-Maurienne region of the Northern Alps, Val Cenis has 125 km of slopes connected by 28 fast lifts. With 200 snow cannons and North facing orientation, Val Cenis is a reliable resort with a long ski season. Offering a decent number of green, blue, red runs as well as five black runs and two boardcross slopes, the region caters well for beginners and intermediates who will be able to enjoy the thrill of the mountain top as well as the beautiful tree-lined runs below. School groups love the 900m long toboggan run which is accessed by the Val Cenis le Haut gondola lift.
