Explore over 100km of ski terrain in Saint- Véran

St Veran is found in the Queyras region of the Haute Alpes close to Vars and about 40km south of Briancon which is at the foot of the Serre Chevalier system. The resort is a traditional French mountain village which has developed as a ski resort. What makes St Veran stand out as a resort is its height; at well over 2000m, it is one of the highest, non-purpose-built, ski resorts and also the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe.

The area is especially good for beginners and intermediates. The Queyras ski pass covers 100km of pistes, 30km of which are at St Veran and the rest accessible by bus. Due to its height, the area has a consistent snow record throughout the season. For school groups willing to use their coach to access the slopes, this has to be the best value to be had in the high French alps and we have got some cracking deals for school groups, including a great price for February half term.

Saint Veran CJH Centre

CJH Centre

  • A comfortable chalet offering ensuite rooms for students sharing two to five a room. The chalet can sleep up to 120 and is run by a group that specialises in youth accommodation which means it is simple in style but provides everything your group needs for a memorable stay.
  • A stunning location in the highest village in Europe, the accommodation is a short coach ride to the St Veran ski area and a slightly longer ride to the rest of the Queyras ski pass area. Because the paid-for evening entertainment is quite a distance from the centre we organise a great programme of in-house activities for your school group using the centre’s many facilities.
  • Seven activity rooms, bar, discotheque and showroom, library, ping-pong room, photo lab, fitness room, games room and relaxation area.
  • Full board with picnic lunch.

This resort suits school groups who are happy to use the facilities at the accommodation as all the traditional paid-for evening entertainment is quite a distance from the centre. We will organise a great in-house programme for your group so your students will not be missing out.
