With its huge ski area there's something for everyone in this classy spa resort
Prior to evolving into a ski resort, the Austrian town of Bad Gastein was famous as a spa town (‘Bad’ = ‘Bath’). As a result is quite built up in comparison to other resorts, but it retains some beautiful historical architecture and you can still visit the spa.
The skiing is excellent with most of the pistes on open slopes and with over 200km to explore there’s plenty of skiing and boarding for all abilities in your school group. This vast and varied ski area is covered by a single lift pass with the largest area accessible by lift and the rest connected by ski bus or your coach.
Our school accommodation is close to the Stubnerkogelbahn cable car which takes you to the summit station with magical views across the valley and across to Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner.
