Incredible landscapes, unique wildlife and a culturally diverse population
Namibia is an interesting destination for Geography, Biology and cultural discovery. The country takes its name from the vast Namib desert one of the world’s oldest deserts and is famous for the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei and for the Etosha National Park, one of the world's greatest conservation areas which are home to an abundance of wildlife, big game and endemic species.
Namibia’s historical background is reflected in the 13 ethnic groups that inhabit the country today – from the Nama and Bushmen (San), believed to be the original inhabitants, to the people of German and South African origin who colonised the country in the 19th century.
