Hit the slopes on a school ski trip to Grandvalira in Andorra

Our school groups stay in El Tarter, a laid back village neighbouring Soldeu at the heart of the Grandvalira ski system in Andorra. Our recommended accommodation is a mile from El Tarter village centre at the three-star Ransol hotel which offers a high standard of accommodation which would cost considerably more in some other destinations. As well as offering excellent skiing, the area has plenty of evening possibilities including the vibrant capital city of La Vella close by. What we like about skiing in the Grandvalira, and Andorra in general, is that the modern resorts are designed to make the whole experience much easier. For example, ski hire, ski school, restaurants and ski lockers are housed around each major lift station meaning that you don’t need to walk far in your ski boots or lug your skis and poles on and off the bus. Every morning all you need to do is get off the coach, travel up the lift, swap your trainers for skis and boots and you are off!

Grandvalira is the ski system that links several villages from Pas de la Casa at one end to En Camp at the other. The whole system is linked by a modern and fast lift system, making Grandvalira a very large, integrated snow space with plenty for your group to explore. Another draw is that the resorts in Grandvalira are surprisingly high which makes for great conditions (Pas de la Casa, for example, is above 2100m). The area is particularly suited to beginners and intermediates due to the great ski schools, wide tree-lined runs and excellent value for money. All the teachers in your group will receive a full area ski pass which covers 220km of piste while students will receive a local valley pass covering 110km of slopes. You also have the option to upgrade to full area passes for the whole group.
