Voyager Adventure leading the way in L’Escala

Voyager Adventure has a well-earned reputation for exacting standards in school watersports trips and L’Escala is no exception. In fact, we believe L’Escala is the premiere school watersports and activity venue on the Spanish Mediterranean. 3 days on the beach include sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, wet walk and giant SUPs!

The 3 days on the beach are then complemented by a variety of excursions within easy reach. This part of Spain offers something for everyone, with cultural day trips to Barcelona, Montserrat and Figueres, or high adrenalin excursions to Waterworld and TSJ Wake Park.

Finally, because of its excellent links to the continental motorway system, Calais is only 19 hours away and for those who prefer to fly, L’Escala is particularly well served by low-cost airlines flying into Gerona, Barcelona and Perpignan.

Accommodation

Students stay at Cala Montgó campsite on the Costa Brava in 2-level wooden bungalows of up to 4 people. Each bungalow is fitted with a bathroom and kitchen area with a fridge, stove and microwave. All Voyager School Travel groups stay together in a close-knit commune of bungalows in a section of the campsite reserved for us. Food is included on a full-board basis with a starter, main and dessert for evening meals. All dietary requirements are catered for by the campsite.

The campsite also has its own supermarket and a swimming pool manned by a lifeguard during designated hours.

What makes the L’Escala Programme so special

The natural topography of L’Escala provides a wonderful, safe environment for novice sailors, with protection from the winds which can sometimes blight other locations on this coastline.  Activities take place on the glorious playa, tucked into a corner of the bay and a spot envied by other operators. Added to this Montgo Bay, 10 minutes walk from the accommodation and an excellent location for students to explore as part of their wet walk sessions. The rich marine habitat of the bay also provides the ideal location for snorkellers to safely explore.

Sailing - beginners are initiated into the world of sailing in the RS Feva’s, a boat in which many generations of sailor have taken their first steps. Students will learn to sail, to enjoy and respect the sea and nature, whilst having fun. We have a variety of other RS sailing dinghies for more advanced sailors.

Kayaking - L’Escala is ideal for Kayakers. Once students have mastered the basic skills, our instructors will lead them on a tour of the bay which is safe for novices to explore, but a journey which will make any kayaking session all the more interesting and exciting.

Snorkelling – Taking place at Montgo Bay, this location is ideal for snorkellers. The stable marine environment offers a safe place in which students can learn the basic skills of snorkelling and its rich in marine habitats will keep students interested and excited.

Paddleboarding - Once students have mastered the basic skills, instructors lead them on the tour of the rich marine environment.

Wet Walk - An introduction to Coasteering, L’Escala offers an ideal environment for an introduction to this exciting world

Giant SUPs - what more is there to say. Fun and games in a more team orientated activity. One of the least technical but most fun sessions of the programme.
