Our watersports school trip with Voyager Adventure

The Learning Objectives for the trip are to broaden learner’s ability to deal with difficult and challenging experiences. It is a vocational trip which aims to prepare students for the workplace, giving them confidence,  plus exposure to professional and ‘lift’ experiences which will lead onto successful employment for the rest of their lives. Having run the trip 6 times now, we know students get to use all their skills in difficult and challenging situations, which builds character.

The best aspect of the programme is the variety of Voyager activities (sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and more). The instructors are really enthusiastic about their work and it is obvious to the students, it really rubs off on them. The instructors remember us from one year to the next which helps a lot. The activities can be quite technical, so it’s about pitching it at the right level and explaining in a clear way, which they do really well. The students learn and quickly grasp what to do. Part of this is making sure the students are listening to instructions - remembering all their names really helps. The equipment is also always new.

The thing which sets the Voyager programme above any other we have done is the quality of the high adrenalin off-site activities. The White-Water Rafting is awesome, with the instructors personalising the experience to our group’s needs and abilities. The Wakeboarding park is great and the Canyoning is immense. The students find it a massive challenge, which is just what we want. We would go back to Argeles just for this!!

The evening entertainment is great, with lots of team games and activities, plus the opportunity for students to hang out.

Voyager produce a GoPro video for the week, which is great to show Parents and future groups. It also makes a great momento for the students.

What about the accommodation?

“We have stayed at the Taxo site six times now and it is ideal for our group. The location is perfect and the facilities are just what we need - the swimming pool and football pitches are great for our students who still have energy to burn off at the end of the day.”

“The self-contained caravans are superb for the students and the single rooms for staff are always appreciated.”

“We are an older group and so some of our students need a lot of food, which the restaurant are happy to oblige.”

Why do you choose to travel with Voyager?

“The Argeles activity programme is in a class of its own, both in terms of the activites and the standards of Health & Safety. It is so good and the organisation is so easy, that I’ve had no problem finding new Party Leaders to take it over.”

“The support we receive from the Voyager office, including the support material you provide (leaflets, presentations, posters) plus the support we receive from the guys in resort, makes my job easy.”
