Prudhoe School Discovers India with Voyager Worldwide
In the summer, Prudhoe Community High School went one step beyond with Voyager Worldwide and traveled to India for the cultural trip of a lifetime. The school group made some unforgettable memories over the course of their 11-day school tour. Read on for a quick rundown of their school trip to India below and get inspired.
Arriving in the capital city, Prudhoe kicked off their tour with some sightseeing and a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi.
The following day the group set off to Bodhgaya for some enlightenment as they visited the Mahabodhi Tree, Buddhist temples and the Niranjana river.
Next, the students headed to the spiritual capital of India, Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities on earth. The first evening was spent watching an Aarti prayer performance at the river Ganges, with the following morning spent on a boat to watch the sunrise over the spiritual river!
The students were then in for a culture shock on an overnight sleeper (with air-conditioning!) for their journey to Agra, famous as the city of the Taj Mahal, a breathtaking sight and surely a bucket list item for any traveler.
A journey to Jaipur and return trip to Delhi completed the latter end of the school tour to India, with historical sights, cultural experiences and incredible food abound!
