School trips to South Africa

Voyager specialises in educational tours to South Africa. Come with us and see baby elephants at play in the Kruger Park, watch the sunset over the Kalahari Desert, take a cable car ride over Table Mountain or simply discover more of her history and culture.

Discover the Rainbow Nation

South Africa is nicknamed the ‘Rainbow Nation’ because of the diversity of its people but it also offers a spectrum of spectacular landscapes and an array of wildlife in its natural habitat.

South Africa has a fascinating history which has seen Dutch settlers and British rule, and the introduction of apartheid in 1948. Foreign relations were strained for years as many countries imposed economic sanctions against South Africa. Since the end of apartheid and the election of President Nelson Mandela in 1994, South Africa has opened its doors to the world. These days you can expect a top-notch tourism industry and a friendly welcome.

A world in one country

On your epic journey you will discover the dramatic beauty of the Drakensberg Mountains, see the scorched red earth of the Kalahari Desert and breathe in the fresh ocean air around the Cape of Good Hope to the south – we can also arrange a visit to the lush green valleys of Swaziland. There will be plenty of opportunities to see wildlife: whether that’s spotting the ‘Big 5’ with our expert ranger in the Kruger National Park, catching the baboons at play at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve or a chance encounter with a whale at Plettenberg Bay. One of the highlights of our Cape Town Tour is a boat trip to Robben Island to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 of his 27 years in captivity.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela
“We were made to enjoy music, to enjoy beautiful sunsets, to enjoy looking at the billows of the sea and to be thrilled with a rose that is bedecked with dew… Human beings are actually created for the transcendent, for the sublime, for the beautiful, for the truthful... and all of us are given the task of trying to make this world a little more hospitable to these beautiful things.” Desmond Tutu
“It’s really beautiful. It feels like God visits everywhere else but lives in Africa.” The actor, Will Smith
